Hope House and Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Program

The LOHM's Housing Dept

The Ladies of Hope Ministries Housing Dept is home to our Hope House and Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Program.

The LOHM operates three HUD-funded Rapid Re-housing projects, which are located in New York City, Prince George’s County, MD (DC metro-area), and New Orleans. These programs are incorporated into each jurisdiction’s Continuum of Care for the Homeless and subject to the policies and procedures of each jurisdiction, as well as HUD regulations and oversight.

Each program is obligated to provide case management and rental assistance to a minimum of 15 households annually.

The goal of each program is to facilitate housing stability and sustainability for homeless individuals fleeing domestic violence and those impacted by the criminal legal system.

The job of our case managers are to provide swift access to healing, opportunities, progression, and empowerment as we deal with their immediate need for housing and other support services such as income generation, employment support, mental and physical health, etc.

At The LOHM, we understand that housing is more than just a roof over your head—it's the foundation from which individuals can rebuild and thrive. Our Rapid Rehousing Program is dedicated to supporting individuals who are actively fleeing domestic violence or have recently become homeless due to recent domestic violence incidents.

Each year, we serve up to 15 households, providing rental assistance for up to one year to help stabilize their living situation. Our approach is rooted in the belief that a safe and stable home is essential for pursuing personal goals and improving overall quality of life.

Our program is built around three key components:

Housing Identification: We assist in finding and securing safe, appropriate housing.
Housing-Focused Case Management: Our team provides ongoing support tailored to the unique needs of each household, ensuring they are well-equipped to maintain their housing stability.
Wrap-Around Services: For up to two years, we offer comprehensive services, including help with obtaining identification and social security cards, applying for benefits and public assistance, accessing emergency financial aid, employment services, and exploring educational opportunities.

While The LOHM does not have a specific Hope House New York physical location, our services are available throughout New York, ensuring that individuals in need have access to the support they deserve, wherever they are.

Prince George County - PGC

Rapid Rehousing Program

At The LOHM, we understand that housing is a critical foundation for individuals to rebuild and thrive. Our Rapid Rehousing Program is specifically designed to support those who are actively fleeing domestic violence or have recently become homeless due to such incidents.

Each year, we assist up to 15 households, providing rental assistance for up to one year to help stabilize their living situations. Referrals to our program are made through the Coordinated Entry System for Homeless Persons, ensuring that those most in need receive prompt support.

Our program is centered around three key components:

Housing Identification: We help participants find and secure safe, appropriate housing.
Housing-Focused Case Management: Our team offers personalized support to meet the unique needs of each household, helping them achieve long-term housing stability.
Wrap-Around Services: We provide comprehensive support, including assistance with obtaining identification and social security cards, applying for mainstream benefits and public assistance, accessing employment services, and exploring educational opportunities.

Hope House

Transitional housing program for single women who are either justice-impacted or are victims of domestic violence and have been referred through the County’s Coordinated Entry system.

Short-term housing (3 months to one-year) in a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home.
Guests share a bedroom with one other program participant and have free access to communal living space that includes an eat-in kitchen, living room, workspace, wifi, and a large backyard.
Case managers provide assistance with obtaining identification, social security cards, applying for mainstream benefits and/or public assistance, linkages to mental and somatic health providers, employment services, and exploring educational options.
Residents have access to other LOHM programs like P4E and FOWI.

New Orleans - NOLA

At The LOHM, we understand that housing is a critical foundation for individuals to rebuild and thrive. Our New Orleans Rapid Rehousing Program is specifically designed to support those who are actively fleeing domestic violence or have recently become homeless due to such incidents.

Each year, we assist up to 15 households, providing rental assistance for up to one year to help stabilize their living situations. Referrals to our program are made through Unity’s New Orleans Coordinated Entry System for Homeless Persons, ensuring that those most in need receive prompt support.

Our program is centered around three key components:

Housing Identification: We help participants find and secure safe, appropriate housing.
Housing-Focused Case Management: Our team offers personalized support to meet the unique needs of each household, helping them achieve long-term housing stability.
Wrap-Around Services: We provide comprehensive support, including assistance with obtaining identification and social security cards, applying for mainstream benefits and public assistance, accessing employment services, and exploring educational opportunities.

In addition, we have a second Rapid Rehousing grant that serves 15 homeless individuals, with the only criterion being a history of homelessness.

Hope House NOLA

Established in April 2020, Hope House NOLA is a safe haven designed to support women and girls as they heal from trauma and transform their lives before, during, and after incarceration. Our unique HOPE HOUSE model was developed in collaboration with human services professionals and women and girls who are currently or formerly incarcerated, ensuring that the core needs of our guests are fully addressed.

Our goal is to empower House Guests to transition into safe and permanent housing after a year and successful completion of the HOPE SCALE. Even after transitioning, guests retain their connection to Hope House for continued support and personal development.

Hope House NOLA offers a nurturing environment with live-in support in a homelike setting. Our home features light-filled bedrooms, a large gathering area, a communal kitchen, and a swimming pool, providing both comfort and a sense of community.

The house accommodates guests in a 5-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, with one of the rooms serving as a triple. Our case managers are dedicated to assisting guests with obtaining identification, social security cards, applying for public assistance, accessing employment services, and exploring educational opportunities.

Detroit

Future Expansion

At The LOHM, we are committed to expanding our reach and impact. We are currently working in partnership with the Continuum of Care for the Homeless in Detroit and are planning to extend our services to the Detroit area by 2025. Our goal is to bring our comprehensive housing and support programs to those in need, helping individuals and families in Detroit rebuild their lives and achieve stability.

Miami

Future Expansion

At The LOHM, we are dedicated to broadening our impact and supporting more communities in need. We are currently collaborating with the Continuum of Care for the Homeless in Miami, with plans to extend our services to the Miami area by 2025. Our aim is to bring our comprehensive housing and support programs to Miami, helping individuals and families achieve stability and rebuild their lives.
